Re: Back problems with Endo-KristyFrom: Mindy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Jul 10 09:56:30 2002
Hey Kristy and all :-) How are you doing? My doc has been monitoring a cyst on my left ovary (although it's my right that hurts!) and I went in last week and the ultra sound lady (who sees a lot of Endo patients) asked me if I had a history of Endometriomas. I told her I had bi-lateral Endometriomas removed back in Feb 2000. My doc thinks it may be a ruptured follicle cyst, but it will not go away. He did a CA 125 test and my level was 52 (should be under 35). I had my period this past weekend and it was quite uncomfortable.....you know like when Endo starts coming back. I see my doc on Monday and he wants an oncologist to look at the ultrasounds and get his opinion. Personally, I am thinking it is another Endometrioma. I had surgery with Dr. R last year in May and I am confident that he did a great job.....it's Dr. R! I ahve been absolutely painfree from Endo for one year!!! I may have some superficial Endo right now causing the mild pain during my period, but if the cyst is an Endometrioma......man I will be bummed. But I would rather it be Endo than cancer!!!! I am going to ask my doc to surgically remove the cyst b-cuz my hubby and I want to do IVF at the end of this year. I have not been able to get prego since my miscarriage in Jan. Anyhow, sorry this is so long. I am just frustrated. I thought that I would be painfree and Endo free for more than one year, but whatever is causing this in my body is quite agressive and even the best can't help :-( If it is Endo, that is. I hope you are well. Has it been better since you stopped working? The pain and stress that is? You have an awesome support group :-) Mindy
