Re: adensomyosis/menstural painFrom: Mindy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Jul 6 13:57:05 2002
Find another doctor!!! Have you been formally diagnosed with adenomyosis? A specific MRI (the setting of it) can pick up adenomyosis. I had/have endo that caused severe debilitating pain the first 3 days of my period and I also had pain leading up to my period and I did not have adenomyosis. I had severe back pain as well. I would find a specialist, meaning someone who has extensive background in treating the disease. You can contact the Endo Association and ask the girls on this board. The EA's number is 414-355-2200. I know they have an 800# and you might be able to find it on their website: http://www.endometriosisassn.org/ Please do not have the hystorectomy....at least not right away. The only solution that I know of for adenomyosis is to have a hysto, but make sure you have it first.....MRI or even better, a biopsy. If your problem is just Endo, like mine was, removing the reproductive system is not going to solve your problem. I had endo on the colon, bladder, pelvic floor, etc. It grows in other places as well. Best wishes to you and I wish I personally had the name of someone in your area, but you should find someone with this board or with the EA. Mindy :-)
