Ablasion/Tubal post-complicationsFrom: Tammy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jul 2 11:36:56 2002
Need info from anyone... I had a thermal ablasion procedure to correct excessive bleeding eight months ago. I had been on birth control pills for ~5 years (for birth control). I had a tubal ligation at the same time. My doctor was certain that my periods would all but disappear. I was 45 years old at the time of the procedure. My periods returned but were light and short in nature. Four months ago, the periods were accompanied with severe pain on mainly the right side with severe pain radiating down my right leg past the knee. Heat and pain killers are required for two days per month. I have a very high threshold of pain, so this is unnerving to me. I am in excellent physical health otherwise, eat right, exercise 15 hours per week. I had four pregnancies from the age of 20 to 33. The doctor who performed the procedure moved his practice recently, but didn't even seem interested in trying to diagnose the problem, just wanted to perform a hysterectomy. I will do so only as a last resort, but want to find out why the pain exists first. Any information is greatly appreciated.
