Dear Oprah,
I owned a little corner bar. I lost everything because of two neighbors and the Liquor Control Board. The neighbors lied and the LCB set me up. I have proof. I have one serving minor fine which was a neighbor and an X-Commissoners grandson which never received a fine for under age drinking and was having a party at his own house because the mother and Father weren't home.
I want my lawyer and neighbors to take a lie detector test on your show..
My judge was drunk and killed someone while driving. I knew he was not going to rule to keep my bar open. I am a single female. I adopted two Korean daughters and I am raising them alone. Since I have lost my Liquor License I have no income. So about two months of no income I had to swallow my pride and go to a welfare office for help.I didnt qualify for nothing because I own a bar. I feel I'm living through a nightmare. My poor kids! I'm so depressed I don't no how to make things right. I can't live with all the lies. I have transcripts that are changed from LCB. The judge (Judge Sacavage) wrote in the transcripts that I had 4 violations in four years. I had only two but I am only guilty of one. Please help me set the record right.
I have so much more to tell you It will shock you. Please call me. There are thousands of bars closed because of Nuisance Bar Laws. LCB can close any bar they choose with the way the laws are set up.
I also think because of being a single female I was a easy target. They want me to take this and not fight back. I can not take the lies I only want the truth.
My first hearing was in front of LCB. I rented a bus to show LCB that there was community support. There were only two neighbors against the rest of our town. Before the hearing started my lawyer and the LCB talked in the side room . Then my lawyer comes out with an offer and says "LCB said neighbors are idiots and we dont belong here" but they wanted to give neighbors something to keep them happy.They wanted me to settle for no entertainment license for the next six months. I said " I never had an entertainment licence." They said " Thats Right but the neighbors don't know that. I said "ok". They have told me that I would get my license back right away so they would make this hearing quick. I said "OK". I was very happy. You are supposed to get a letter in four weeks telling you what has happened.Eight weeks later I get a letter saying I lost.
I have so much more to say. I took a dozen subpoena witnesses and four CoalTownship police officers with me to my next hearing and my judge wouldn't take the time to listen to them. I paid my lawyer for a two day hearing three thousand dollars and my hearing only lasted thirty minutes.
After the 9-11 tragedy. I wanted to go to New York to help in any way that I could. Along with everyone in America with a heart. I think I just wanted to be around people with more sadness in there lives then I had In mine. At least I still have my children.
On March 13th I found out I lost my Bar. I feel like my two neighbors are the airplanes and LCB are the terorists and my bar is the twin towers.
The only good thing is no one died EXCEPT MY HEART. Sincerely,
