Re: Beating ENDOmetriosis!!!!From: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Jun 21 18:19:16 2002
>> Hi, I don't mean to scare you, but please read up on Lupron before you get anymore shots. I know it may work for some people, but I will tell you some effects it has had on me, with no end success in treating my endo. Side effects I experienced (age 22): loss of bone density causing teeth to break(now I have 10 crowns),memory loss for several months after last shot, bad hot flashes and mood swings, crying all the time for nothing, constant pain anyway, no period for six months after treatment. It was not at all worth it to me. When you first get Endo you think this is the best way to treat it. There are many successful ways to treat this disease. I did have much luck with a med called Aygestin before laser surgery. Surgery stopped my pain for 2 1/2 years until I got another surgery. Please feel free to email me directly if you want anymore info on my dr. or have questions. Some people like Lupron, and I don't want to use this site to bash Lupron. I just would not advise it to anyone. Everyone I know who took it, including myself regets it. I have had much luck lately with dealing with Endo and I don't mind telling you my story at all, if it will help you out with these tough decisions. Email: Rosebella19@hotmail.com. Best of Luck.
