While I'm not sure he blew you off, he doesn't impress me as a physician if he thinks just because Bextra helps him for his back pain (athritis probably) that it will help all patients with all conditions. I'm not a medical professional, but I think that anti-inflammatories characteristically begin to provide relief immediately, and don't become more effective after a month's time. While it my be reasonable to stick with his plan for two more weeks, you might consider going elsewhere. You could also ask his opinion of a pain clinic for your case. It could be that he's reluctant to try more meds because the next step would be a narcotics class a drug. (just speculating). I hope you feel better soon.
