Re: Norethindrone/AygestinFrom: Dena (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Jun 15 19:44:54 2002
Hi Emily, Your situation sound very similar to my own. I began Lupron after my laparotomy in October. The doctor I was seeing put me on an estradiol patch to help with the side effects. After a few months I couldn't take it any more. My pain became so intense. In February the doc switched me to Norethindrone for add back and also put me on antidepressants because I was crying at my visit (he didn't think I was crying from the pain ....jerk). I continued on that plan until April when I was able to get to Boston to see a specialist. By that time I could barely walk. It felt like I had broken knees, amoung other horrible joint pain. Well, the specialist immediately took me off the Norethindrone and put me on Low-ogestrel. He also told me that the other doc should never have continued with the Lupron because of the way it effected me. I hope everything works out for you. Lupron seems to have worked for some of the women on the forum. Unfortunately I have to agree with the women who refer to it as "poison". That is what it was like in my body. Maybe things would have been different if I had seen a good doctor from day one. Best of luck to you Emily.
