Re: Need adviceFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Jun 13 14:35:16 2002
hi, i read you message below midst my search for answers to my endo pains. it concerns me greatly that you don't feel comfortable w/ your doctor. you note was written 6 months ago. so i hope this is resolved. if not, after speaking to your GYN, you don't feel they are taking your pain seriously consider changing docs. talk to you pcp (primary care physician) they might be able to help w/ pain meds. mine did. in fact, he was the first to take my pain of many years seriously. if you have a ppo, you could go speak to a pain clinic without the referal of your doctor. there are many around, but i have been asking for those who specialize in pelvic pain. i am in a lot of pain and have been and i find NSAIDs helpful, these are anti-inflamitory drugs that really help. even over the counter advil really does the trick, believe it or not. you can talk w/ your doctor about this (it seems to help issues with prostaglandins, but don't ask me i am not a doc). i just know this really helped me more than the codeine! so find someone who can help you with the pain, also walking really helped me. i am still struggling like you, but they have to take your pain seriously. good luck and best wishes.
