Hi Kristy: I am great, thanks for asking. I am just heading off to a cottage for the weekend. Wish me good weather! Good Point….I got the book from the library so it may not be the most recent version of it. I agree that info on the internet can't be relied on necessarily but there is some good stuff- like this forum! Here are some references for you in the Endometriosis Sourcebook: p.82 hyponatremia,p.201 life threatening peritonitis, p.216 life threatening kidney damage, p.220-222 ureter obstruction. Also the chapters on hysterectomy discuss the increased risk for osteoporosis and heart disease. Also here are a few other sources/quotes....... While not a "medical" reference, you may find interesting woman's experience with bowel obstruction. (http://www.obgyn.net/women/articles/comfort/comfort009.htm) Also on bowel obstruction: http://www.rcsed.ac.uk/Journal/vol44_1/4410050.htm D. WICKRAMASEKERA, D.J. HAY and M. FAYZ Department of General Surgery, Glan Clwyd Hospital, Bodelwydden, Wales, UK "An ectopic pregnancy is life threatening without emergency laparotomy." The Merck Manual Ch. 3 sec. 25 "Having had a tubal disorder...increases the risk of ectopic pregnancy. The mortality rate for ectopic pregnancy...is estimated to be 1 in 826. Untreated ectopic pregnancy is usually fatal." The Merck Manual sec. 18 "Rarely, distant areas like the lungs or brain are affected...." ...Others may have the following conditions… bowel obstruction…. damage to the kidneys and ureters.." By Eva Martin, MD, Copyright © 2001 HealthAnswers, Inc. “Cases have been reported of extrapelvic involvement of virtually every other organ system, including CNS, lungs, pleura, kidney, and bladder.” Kyle Hsu, MD, Consulting Staff, Department of Emergency Medicine, United States Air Force Mike O'Callan Federal Hospital

There are a lot more but this is as far as I got on my lunch hour…I will be sure to pass on any more I come across. Have a great weekend. Amanda
