I think it just depends on how much pain you're in. If surgery will alleviate your pain then it might be a good idea. You would probably have a laparoscopy which is not that big of a deal. However, it also depends on your age. You should have the endometriosis removed if you want more children to stop the endo from getting worse and causing more problems later on when you try and get pregnant. Also, once you start having surgery you'll always get some degree of scar tissue which can cause MORE pain. I've had 2 laparoscopies in the last 8 months and I know that a lot of scar tissue was present in the 2nd lap because of the first lap. So really, if the endo isn't causing significant pain I wouldn't have surgery. I mean, I'm only 20 and so I might have different reasons for having the surgery. Hope this helps. PS. You should never have to become accustomed to pain-but I do think we, ie. people with endo, will have some degree of pain wherever it is in our cycles.
