Lisbeth, There is quite a bit of information about hysterectomy and endometriosis in the archives. A hysterectomy is major surgery, and any surgery has risks associated with it. Always get a second (or third) opinion. However, over half a million hysterectomies are performed in the U.S. each year, and very few have major complications. I have had a hysterectomy and did not have even minor complications; it was a very positive experience for me. You might also check out hystersisters.com. It's not for medical advice, but it is a support and resource website for women thinking about hysterectomy, who have had recent surgery, and also for those with long term health concerns after surgery.
