support groups, and money/attention grabbers

For four years now I have been dealing with my diagnosis of endo (actually got this illness 8 years ago), recently my dr. told me I was doing wonderful and is confident I am going to continue doing wonderful. Because of this I kinda feel it is time for me to give to other gals and guys who have this. I was thinking about possibly starting up a support group in the Orlando area when I move down there in July, but I have no idea how to go about doing this. Any ideas? Also, I want to make the public more aware about the illness because there are soooooo many people mis-diagnosed and many people, such as bosses, professors, even family members, who do not see this disease as serious. I also hope to maybe organize a walk for endo or something like that to raise money for dr's and organizations to find the cause and treatment that will stop recurrences (50% of women with endo suffer recurrences within 5-10 years, but I am sure you all know that.) Has anyone on here attempted to do anything like this? Or does anyone have any ideas on how I can get started? I am particularly worried about it because I am only 19 and I am not sure people are going to take me seriously. *HUGS* ~ANAGet more from the Web.
