It also started when I was 21, in University. I was tested for bladder infections and took drugs for them, even though there wasn't anything showing up. I spent a day as an outpatient having painful bladder function tests in the hospital involving catheters and xrays etc. with no major abnormality uncovered. My laproscopy- also that year also found endo attached to my bladder which was removed but with no long term improvement. Like you, my pain is before urination and especially after. The pain begins with a full bladder, first sore to the touch then if I have to wait for the bathroom it aches. Then AS I urinate my stomach aches with increasing severity and sharpness the more my bladder is emptied peaking as it is completely empty. I have lived in 3 different cities since I was 21 (am 24 now) and so I have had different doctors. The most qualified (a gyno-urologist) of the 3 said that sometimes when adhesions are removed they can leave scar tissue and that could be the source of my bladder pain. My endemetriosis is classified as "mild" but this doctor also said that the severity of endo is unrelated to the level of pain. He said that short of Luoperon or having a Hyseterectomy, I would have to learn to live with it. My most recent doctor told me that after reading the surgical report it would seem highly unlikely that I could have bladder pain all month long with such a small amount of endo. She offered to refer me to a new urologist and to start all over. I declined for now. I don't know about you but it is more the mystery of it's presence that bothers me than the actual pain. I worry that the pain that is being "ignored" is supposed to be a warning sign. Other symptoms of endo like cramps and painful intercourse are things that women everywhere suffer from. I don't know anyone else, except now you, who has bladder pain all of the time. Email me if you like. Good luck. Amanda
