Re: Wanda, payment on surgery- another postFrom: Wanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Apr 30 22:11:49 2002
Brandy, Sorry, It has taking me so long to get back with you. I had two research papers due tonight and I have spent over a week working on both..UGH..Glad,this class is over!!!! That is horrible about the deductible! You should not "have" to come up with a deposit for your doctor especially if you have insurance. My very first lap, I did not have any insurance at all. That is the only time I had to come up with any money up front. I would call the office manager and talk with her. Or whom ever is head of the office. If you pay the doctor's office the whole amount, no, you won't owe the hospital because your deductible will have been met. But that also depends are your insurance policy. Some polices have co-payments to the hospital. I have to agree with your ins. agent. This sounds really odd. They should be able to bill you. Or tell them that you can come up with 10% of what they need (or whatever you can give them) and make a payment plan for the rest. If they can't deal with that...they are horrible...my opinion. Or if they can't deal with a payment arrangement or billing you, ask them if they can refer you to a GYN that can help you with monetary part of it. As my SO, tells me all the time...you are paying them...they are actually working for YOU!!!! Not the other way around! If you need anymore help, I will be happy to assist you! Angel Hugs, Wanda
