Re: alternative treatmentsFrom: Mindy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Apr 30 10:34:45 2002
Dear Natalie: You mentioned that you wanted to hear success after one surgery. My battle with Endo started in Feb 00 which is when I had my first sugery. Bi-lateral Endometriomas were discovered and stage 4 Endo. All of which was removed by laser and I was put on a course of Lupron for 4 months. This was not successful. I too had seen the numerous surgeries people had had, and I was determined to find another means rather than going down the same road, or going back to the same doctor for that matter!!! I found Dr. R ( http://www.endometriosistreatment.org/ ) and traveled to Oregon to have surgery with him May 1, 2001. Again stage 4 Endo and this time my ovaries had adhered themsleves to my pelvic wall (probably from the interceed the first doc had used). I also had endo on my sigmoid colon that he removed. I have gone almost one year with no pain and was even able to conceive a child (although I miscarried). My last period was questionable, meaning I did have some familiar pain. I do have another cyst on my L ovary that may be leaking and causing the pain, but all I know is that I have gone 1 year without any dibilitating pain during my period. which for me is great since I got NO relief after my first surgery! If you read his website, you can see his methods and why they work. Best Wishes to you, Mindy
