Re: having big time blood in urine, have had hyst. for endo, pain in right shoulderFrom: Tina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Apr 29 13:36:50 2002
Gayle, Please go to the Dr!! I had a similar experience 2 years ago. I woke up one morning and was getting ready for work. There was sooo much blood in my urine. I thought "weird...but I've got a busy day...can't deal with this now". Each time I went to the bathroom over the course of the day the bleeding let up until it finally disappeared. Well that night the PAIN kicked in...it was unbearable, I tossed an turned all night and the next morning the blood was back ++++ I went off to the ER thinking I probably *just* had a bladder infection and needed some antibiotics, cranberry juice and rest. Well I could tell how worried they were when I handed them my brown urine sample. They said it was either a SEVERE bladder infection that had travelled to the kidney or a kidney stone for there to be that much bleeding. In my case it turned out to be a kidney stone...they ran some tests (IVP) which confirmed it and they sent me home (after a 2 day hospital stay to get the pain under control) with demerol and antibiotics (because I also had an infection). Please don't ignore it. I hope you get some answers soon! E-mail me if there is anything I can do.
