Re: depressedFrom: amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Apr 19 23:53:45 2002
Hi Anna, It sounds like you have reason to be super depressed! Do you have anyone helping you get through all of this right now? There is a strong correlation between endo, stress, and the immune system... many studies show that endo increases dramatically with stress and it seems you've got reason to be a bit stressed out! I want to put a high alert on anxiety/depression meds... I'm not saying that you shouldn't be talking to your primary care about meds, but do know that often they can also become a viscious cycle (much like endo)- and especially with being on lupron you might have a hard time figuring out what can be attributed to what. I have a number of friends who have had a more horrendous time getting off of anxiety and/or depression meds than they were having before they went on them (although I'm sure it feels like nothing could be worse for you right now.) I would recommend you find someone to talk to who you can count on in a consistant manner. I don't know your beliefs or values, but someone such as a therapist, a priest, a counselor, or even a good friend who you can set aside a regular meeting time with. Even if you do choose meds, seeing a supportive someone regularly can make all the difference in the world. Hang in there sweetie, keep your optimism up - it's amazing what tomorrow can bring. hugs, amy
