Re: Catamenial Pneumothorax. Has anyone else been diagnosed with this?????From: anonymous@obgyn.netWed Apr 17 23:05:08 2002
im sorry to hear about your diagnosis, my sister had the same. she died at a young age (18) because of a lung collapse. i myself have a type of endo as well but it has not yet gone so far. i am now 25 and have been on birth control since i had my first period due to heavy cramping and blood clots as well as ovarian and uterine cysts. i was diagnosed at 13 for having endo. and it scares me to death because i am afraid it to will spread. my gyn has givin me the option for a hyterectomy and has told me it most likely would not "work"since endo can grow outside of the uterus that means it can spread further as has mine. i have had surgury after surgury and medication after medication. they all have done terrible things to me. i can no longer be on birth control becasue they have found that it just helped to generate the endo. i had become immune to the pill and have wished for something stronger. with every new trial that comes out, i have been given. i no longer take any meds and just try to keep calm and hopeful that one day like cancer they can find a cure. i just hope that whe my daughter gets older she does not have to deal with what we all go through. it is a painful disease and i know how hard it is if you want to have a child, and i am thankful everyday for my daughter, but i pray that you have better luck than others like us have had and i hope you stay well. good luck, i hope this helps some, if just a tiny bit. i understand the torture like all of us do. once again good luck, sincerely, jessie
