Catamenial Pneumothorax. Has anyone else been diagnosed with this?????From: anonymous@obgyn.netWed Apr 17 15:36:20 2002
I have recently been diagnosed with catamenial pneumothorax by a pulmonary doctor. I have had two lung collapses 4 months apart both happening within 3 days of my menstral cycle. Lung doctor has suggested that I have a pluredesis (surgery on my lung) but no guarentee that it won't collapse again. Since catamenial pneumothorax is maybe linked to endometriosis so he said if that is the case a total hysterecomy might help but no guarentee. My gyno doctor is putting me on birth control and thinks this might help. I would like to hear about other women who have this diagnosis and find out what they did and if it helped.
