Re: lupron useFrom: Ana (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Apr 11 22:47:08 2002
Kayla, Just thought I would write and tell you some of my experience with the Lupron. I am also a college student and the hardest thing about being on this therapy plus going to school is having teachers who do not understand. I could function, but on days when it was literally 102 degrees out I did not want to walk like 2-3 miles to class while having hot flashes. I am happy that I went on the Lupron, but like everyone has said it is different for everyone. I was on it for about a year and the first few months were bad but I refused to give up and it got better. Make sure you have a doctors note explaining the side effects and what not to give to your professors, just so they have a better understanding. SO many people have never heard of endo or anything that is associated with it so it is important to inform everyone what EXACTLY is going on. *HUGS* ~ANA

She did surgery back in last September to remove 2 HUGE cysts but she doesn't remember seeing any thing supiscious of Endo. She told me that she is going to look back into her notes from the surgery. I am suppose to go in for an abdominal CT scan and some blood work and then maybe start Lupron. It depends on if something shows up on the CT scan. Hopefully there won't be another cyst/tumor. I am curious about what are the side effects? I've heard that it's something like chemo?? I will be a full time college student, so I really need to be able to function normally. Right now, I am very limited to what I can do b/c of the pain and just feeling crummy. I feel like I am 100 years old some days. I went to Lupron's web site, but is there anyother objective site w/ info? Thank you everyone!
