Re: Bacteria/yeast infectionsFrom: Susan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Apr 3 21:40:31 2002
Stacey, I wish I actually had something helpful to tell you, but I am on the same roller coaster. I have had 5 UTI's since September and right now I am fighting a yeast infection. The UTI's are so stubborn they won't go away. I am seeing a urologist on Apr. 18th because my GP thinks it is the endo, ovarian cysts and fibroid that are putting a lot of pressure and irritation on my bladder and causing the constant infections. If this proves to be correct, then we have to figure out what to do about the cysts and fibroid. Does your doctor think there will be any risk to your baby if this doesn't clear up? Have you tried any homeopathic remedies, I am going to be looking into them. Trying something more natural instead of antibiotics for the yeast and then something to strengthen the immune system. Have you tried drinking unsweetened cranberry juice? That is another one that is really supposed to help keep the bacteria from growing in the bladder and urethra. It is hard to find unsweetened cranberry juice though, I was looking today. If you get the sweetened stuff apparently the sugar defeats the purpose and it is not as effective. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Good luck. Susan http://communities.msn.ca/SusansEndometriosisStory
