Re: endo and weight gain help

PCOS is polycystic ovarian syndrome -- it is a syndrome which includes many symptoms (weight problems, irregular or no periods, thinning hair on head, excess facial or body hair, acne, and the list goes on)-- not all pcos sufferers have all of the symptoms (I realize I'm not expressing this very well lol, sorry about that, but if you do a yahoo search you'll find all you need to know about pcos and insulin resistance). But basically, Pcos appears to be an endocrine problem which is in whole or part (I honestly don't know lol) linked to a problem re insulin resistance/glucose tolerance. Okay, I better stop because I'm way above my head here lol -- I'm not even sure that what I've just written is accurate -- others, who have actual knowledge on this subject lol, will hopefully jump in and explain this. But supposedly, if what I've read is correct, both endo and pcos appear to involve problems of excess estrogen -- but I'm confusing myself now, because I think the pcos is related to insulin resistance, and endo is related to ??? screwed up immune system ??? -- I hope someone jumps in here to clarify this for me/us lol. Anyway, there may or may not be any correlation between the two, but I thought that maybe I have both and wondered whether this is the norm.

If you look at the top of this page where you see the "Visit Our Other Forums" drop menu, you will find the many pcos forums.
