Response to message 4841 re missing work

I wanted to make a comment about missing work due to endometreosis. I believe that endo is now listed with the ADA and because of that, it would be against the law for anyone to be fired because because of this disease. A friend of mine told me that endo was recently added, along with migraines. The problem is proving it. Try to get a doctor's note explaining the problems you are having. If I was in danger of being fired, I would ask an employment law attorney to look into it. If you fear that your boss/employer is thinking of firing you, make sure you do tell them that you suffer from this disease (and make sure they know it's a disease, not just "cramps" or "your period"!). That way that have notice of your problem and in the future they couldn't say that they just thought you were out of work too much. The problem is that even though it is wrong, an employer could still fire someone for missing work and then it would up to that person to take on a long and draining lawsuit to fight it. I am going to investigate with the ADA and I will post anything that I may find.
