Pro-Gest is, conveniently for me, produced by a company here in Portland, Or. (http://www.transitionsforhealth.com) so it was easy for me to check out the compnay and the quality of their products. And it was also nice to find out it is a woman-owned company. The important thing is to make sure the cream has the right amount of progesterone in it, 450-500 mg per ounce. This provides a physiologic dose in an easily controlled amout of cream. Obviously, less progesterone in the cream means the possiblilty of a too low dose (and the cream gets used up too fast!) but a higher amount makes it easier to overdose. Also, Dr. Lee (http://www.johnleemd.com) has been recommending using a cream without other active ingredients such as herbs, phytoestrogens, etc. because there is no research on the effects of combined products. I also like the consistency of the Pro-Gest. Some creams I've used were effective but had a more liquid consistency. I usually do a web search for the brand I want and compare prices. Also easier to order on the web than chase around to stores who may or may not have any in stock. Take care and let us know how you do. It has been a lifesaver for me! BJ
