Re: Can this symptom just be also caused by Endo?

Claudia: Many of us with endo have experienced these same types of pain. Only a lap will determine if you have endo BUT don't bother doing a lap with just any gyn, make sure that you go to a lap specialist so that all of the endo can be safely excised at the time of lap. Forgive me if my next statement offends you but the fact that your current gyn suggested you switch to Estrostep (a triphasic pill) from Loestrin (a monophasic pill) tells me that he is not an endo specialist -- the lower estrogen monophasic bc pills are the preferred choice for endo sufferers (Mircette taken continuously -- don't take the last week of dummy pills); Loestrin also comes in a 20 estrogen; Allese; and one other brand which I can't remember at this time) -- Now I didn't mention this so that you go to your doc's office and berate him lol, I am telling you this so that you realize that you need to put yourself in the hands of a specialist, ESPECIALLY for endo surgery. If you mention your city or state, perhaps one of the women will know of a specialist in your area. You could also check out a few links to educate yourself. In the meantime, since you're having so much trouble on the triphasic pill (as most of us with endo do), tell your doc you want to switch back to a monophasic bc pill. If you switch to the lower pills, you may have some breakthrough bleeding but lower estrogen is the way to go for endo. Often, reproductive endocrinologists know much more about endo than the average gyn -- since you're interested in conceiving, perhaps finding a great reproductive endocrinologist/fertility specialist/ or very experienced gyn lap surgeon may be the way to go.
