fibroid tumors-menopause painFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Mar 21 17:53:04 2002
Has anyone else experienced this problem, I'm an almost 46 year old woman and I was recently diagnosed with fibroid tumors in my uterus. I've had for the past year nothing but pain in my lower abdomin and lower back at times it feels like someone is stabbing me around the area where my ovaries are. I was told that my ovaries looked good in the ultrasound. I also now have not had a period since January 31,2002. I had a FSH test done and it showed that I was not going through the change yet, although 2 other dr's said that they thought I could be going through the change. My gyn said that fibroid tumors don't cause pain, I also just had a biopsy done of my uterus, and it came back normal. Now I'm being told that some women experience pain while going through menopause. Does anybody know if this is true. Sometimes the pain is so unbearable I have to stay home from work with a heating pad on my stomach. The gyn also put me on prevera a progesterone hormone pill 14 days taking it and 14 days off, trying to regulate my period, she said that this would take care of the pain that I am experiencing also. If anyone else has this problem with pain and menopause please let me know. I just want to know that this is normal what I am experiencing.
