Question on peritoneal strippingFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Mar 17 17:24:33 2002
I had a laproscopy in 10/01 and my doctor said it was the most severe endometriosis she had ever seen. I have lupus which was quite severe in 2000, but is basically quiet now. I still take some medication for my lupus. For the first couple months after my lap, my pelvic pain was reduced, but it is already back to almost as severe as right before my surgury. I discussed lupron with a few of my doctors and this is an option that they agree may work. My ob/gyn suggested that I may want to check into peritoneal stripping. I actually tolerated surgury very well, and if this would work for a long time, I would do it. I am trying to decide between lupron and the peritoneal stripping. I would like to hear about other womens' experiences with both. I tried depoprovera a couple of years ago and it was very BAD for me. I don't want to take lupron if it may trigger my lupus again. HELP! I would appreciate hearing any advice/experiences of anyone who knows about any of these topics. Also, if anyone knows any great doctors in Michigan (Detroit/Ann Arbor, but I'll travel for someone good), please let me know. THANKS! My email is akr627@yahoo.com.
