Lisa, I most of us have ahd the fear that surgery will reveal nothing. I don't know anyone it has happened to. Sometimes nothing shows up on ultrasound though. They can see the lumps of endometrioma, but not endometriosis or adhesions. I had relief for several years with my first surgery. Number two was a hysterectomy with the right ovary retained. Also good for a few years. Number three was lap removal of endometrioma, only six months and its back. Now I am going to have my right ovary out in hopes of being pain free. However, my doctor keeps telling me how nothing my body does is normal and she can't make any promises. I agree it stinks. I am also new to this forum and am finding great comfort in it. At least my spirits are good. Carolyn
