Hi Jenna:
Jenna, endo can flare at anytime during the cycle -- it can flare for a
few days per month or a few weeks per month -- nothing about endo is
written in stone. Mid-cycle pain may or may not be endo -- could be
ovulation pain. Whether or not your pain is bad enough for you to have
a lap is something only you can determine. Whether you'll experience
another bad flare during April and May is unknown -- how long do these
flares usually last? Will a few days of ibuprofen generally take care of
the flare or not? You can always have a lap later in the year should
your pain again worsen. On the other hand, given that, knowing your own
body, something "isn't right/isn't the norm", you could just opt to have
the lap now and get it over with. Maybe he'll find endo, maybe not --
but at least Johns will be able to check everything out and take care of
it as required. If you do choose to have the lap, do it with Johns just
in case you do have endo, that way all can be taken care of at once.
