Re: Endo on the bowelFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Feb 9 09:07:30 2002
Jenna, Well hon, it sounds like your dr may not be as experienced as you need her to be. Alot of reg gyns won't even mess with endo on the bowel, bladder, and other organs. They mainly just take off what they can in the uterus, us ligaments (some won't touch this either), and ovaries. Yes, she can check your bowel with a lap, but as I said she probably isn't experienced enough to do it. You may want to see about finding a Reproductive Endocrinologist, or a gyn that it more experienced in removing endo. Yes, excision seems to be the best way to remove then endo. When the endo is cauterized or ablated, the surgeon is not able to see how deep the endo may be, so will probably miss some of it since these procedures destroy the tissue, so endo beneath that tissue will not be seen. Does that make sense?? I hope this helps you some, if you have any more questions, feel free to email me privately at endogirl78@yahoo.com. Take care hon. Love and PRayers, Amanda
