Re: FERTILITY QUESTION / ENDO AND 'BAD' EGGS????

Very sorry to hear about your pregnancy loss.

I have to say, the RE who told you about the "bad eggs" may not be so far off-base. I have heard from many sources that many doctors have noticed that women with severe endo, particularly involving the ovaries, often have diminished ovarian reserve (evidence by high FSH levels, and basically equivalent to having poor remaining egg quality). One of the theories is that the endo in the ovaries destroys the good eggs; another is that the endo may in some chemical (rather than mechanical way) affect egg quality. In my case, I had extensive endo in my ovaries, and then discovered I have very high FSH levels, for no other apparent reason. It's not known whether removal of the endo improves egg quality, although at least one or two doctors I have read indicated that they think it does. Of course, there are very few scientific studies about this -- (BIG sarcasm here) who cares about such little things like endo and our egg quality?

In any event, though, you need a more thorough explanation of what the issue is with your egg quality, regardless of whether it's caused by endo or not. Then you can figure out how to go ahead.

Good luck!
