Re: Can Endo be in your chest? From: Marcia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Dec 29 10:24:03 2001
Hi Lori: As the others have said, it is rare but possible, to have endo in the lungs. As to actually being in your breast tissue, I am unsure. I have never heard of a cyst in the breast being called a fibroid, but if your doctor told you, there must be such a thing. They are saying that there is nothing solid, because there is a certain echo pattern in your mammogram and ultrasound, that suggest a benign cyst. However, if that is the exact spot of where your pain is, around your time of the month when you are sensitive, I would advise you to insist to your doctor to have a biopsy done of the area, or at the least some testing. Only a biopsy will reveal the presence of endo, whether it be in the pelvis, or the lungs, or your back, or nerves or ligaments, or wherever (there have been extremely rare cases of it occurring in the brain as well), as this tissue tends to migrate (even though they cannot explain exactly why). And you know, you might even want to go for the test to see if you actually do have a hiatal hernia...who knows, endo migrates.... ~~Marcia~~
