Dear Kirsty, I have always had this problem, since I can remember, and it has not gone away since the hysterectomy, it is so bad, that I hardly ever have a natural bowel movement. I use micro enemas every couple of days. Not very healthy, but better than being constipated, as that is the leadingcause world wide of colon cancer. Perhaps you have irritable bowel disease, my doctor says that it can manifest as constipation. I have it month round, it is not linked to my cycle. If anything, bowel movements become a bit easier just before when my period used to be. ( still have an ovary, so I still cycle.) Ask your GP to refer you to a dietician, I have found a modified IBD diet benificial. It might be worth a try. Did you have a good Christmas ? I hope you have a good and blessed 2002 ! (((HUGS))) LAUREN
