The best doctor I've been to for endo is Thomas Lyons at the Center for Endo in Atlanta, GA. I know it's not Virginia, but the trip is worth it. I had my 16th procedure / surgery there last month and I flew in from Pittsburgh. If you scroll back in the forum posts or use his name in a search, you'll read a lot of wonderful things about him. My story was just like yours and I was actually scheduled for removal of my tubes and ovaries when I found Lyons. He performed endometriosis excision and I can still have kids....YAY!! :o) If you want more info., please feel free to email me.
