Questions about taking birth control continuously

I had large endometrioma cysts removed from my ovaries. Now my doctor wants me to take birth control pills continuously to avoid having periods. I have some questions about this. Doesn't the excess estrogen fron taking bc pills continuously thicken the lining of the uterus or cause cells to grow abnormaly? Can somebody explain why it wouldn't do this? I am thinking that that is why I have endo on my ovaries in the first place because of abnormal growth. Can somebody explain to me how it does not aggrivate endometriosis please. Also does taking the pills continuously only help to avoid pain or is it helpful in actualy treating endo? Because I have very little pain during my periods, however I do indeed feel slight aching in my ovaries during my periods.
