Re: Future outlook after ZoladexFrom: Kate (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Dec 16 15:19:51 2001
Hi everyone, Just to put my 2 cents in about Zoladex. I was on the drug for 3 months (with add-back oestrogen which thankfully made the hot flushes etc pretty mild) so that I could have my endo removed at surgery. Since I had my last lap in October, I've been pretty much pain-free (yay!). It took about 3 months for me to have a period - I got paranoid that I'd entered early menopause at the age of 30 - couldn't believe i was looking foward to getting my period! My cycle's been pretty strange since - either from the Zoladex, the surgery, and now i've gone on continuous BCPs. The main thing I found about Zoladex was it made me really vague and fuzzy-thinking, which was difficult for my study and work, not to mention just the day to day tasks (remembering shopping lists etc)! But that too went away a couple of months after finishing the Zoladex. HOpe the treatment works well for you, Cheers, Kate At Sun, 16 Dec 2001, Annette wrote: > >At Mon, 10 Dec 2001, Sybille wrote: >> >>Dear Netti, >>I am 34 in the meanwhile and have had a few surgeries after the past 12 >>years and I had always a follow up hormon therapy. >>For my personal experiance I have to say I was , after endo was removed >>and the follow up painfree each time for about a year to (after Zoladex) >>nearly two years. >>It doesn't mean I had no problems at all - like I got a few cysts (and >>they hurted some bit)- but as those where diagnosed clear cysts we could >>ignore them and the pain where not too bad as well.(nothing comparasing >>the constant endo pains) >>For the follow up after Zpladex it really depense on try and what you >>want - if you want to try for getting pregnant or not.
