Re: Lap this week....From: Christy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Dec 12 22:03:41 2001
You said the lap is at the end of this week. Does that mean it's on Friday and two days later the party is taking place? Or is it 9 days later. Nine days should be no problem. I mean, you may not be able to stay the whole time and you would probably serve yourself and your health best by sitting for most of it. As far as 2 days later, I can only share my experiences with the 16 surgeries I've had. I would never be able to get dressed in 2 days to attend a party. Then again, my endo is painful, so that may make a huge difference. I also believe that the type of lap you're having makes a huge difference too. Is it diagnostic or exploratory or are you having things removed / lasered? I recovered more quickly from diagnostic laps than excisional-types. I would certainly ask the doctor pre-op (although I'm sure you already have) what he's going to do with what he finds, (i.e., if he finds endo, will he just diagnose it or will he excise it; if he finds a cyst, will he aspirate it and remove it, etc.). Please let us know how it goes and I'll say a prayer for you. :o) Christy
