Dear Giovanna: I hope the moderator of this group doesn't block my post -- I answered this same question once, on the sister forum Women's Health Forum, and the moderator blocked my post. I'm assuming my post was blocked because a sponser of the obgyn.net forums/website produces the Interceed product -- perhaps fear of litigation and/or loss of a sponsor prompted the moderator's decision. Regardless, I feel that we have a right to share opinions (doesn't mean our opinions are necessarily correct LOL, but they very well could be :o). Besides, whats the point of this or any other forum if we are censored as to what we may or may not share?!). ***I will say (Moderator, I hope you are reading this) that this sponsor is a great company who produces many great products which help us all -- I use loads of their products :o)***. Re Interceed: A few years ago, I looked into this and other anti-adhesion products as I, too, was concerned re adhesions. Anyway, I spoke with a guru re anti-adhesion barriers -- he basically said that the most important adhesion preventive is the use of superior surgical laparoscopic skills, and thorough irrigation of the cavity with all blood and debris removed. Evidently, any bleeding contributes to adhesion formation. Because I don't want the moderator to block this post, I'm reluctant to tell you, flat out, the answer to your question. You could do an internet search on it. *I will say that I decided against pursuing it -- rather, I had a very good endo lap specialist perform my surgery. We all form adhesions, but by using a specialist, we can, hopefully, lessen the amount/severity. In Europe, they have been using a gel form of adhesive barrier -- we don't yet have it in the U.S.. Some people have a favorable reaction to it, but it is possible to have an allergic reaction -- this is true with anything, many of us have allergic reactions to one thing or another, ie. pollen, certain foods, lactose intolerance, pets, etc..
