Future outlook after Zoladex

Hello

I am 38 years old and I had extensive laser surgery in June this year. It was discovered that my womb was attached to my bladder and was being dragged back, i also had two large sights on my bowel, that were causing me many problems, i.e. back and leg pain, constipation and diarrhea, bloating and nausea. Just before surgery i was in constant pain and I was told that if i hadn't already been booked in i would have been admitted for emergency surgery during the next few months as i was very close to a blockage in my bowel!!

I have been on Zoladex for six months and had my last injection 7 weeks ago. I am still experiencing major hot flushes and sweats that are causing me problems at work (i have started a new job working primarily with men!!!) and also lack of sleep ( i currently experience 8 a night and have to change clothes etc with each one as i sweat so much). I have had other side effects such as vagina dryness and strange mood swings but not having any periods for six months has far outweighed these side effects. I am now beginning to experience bloating and an uncomfortable feeling around my pelvic area and i am feeling quite low at the prospect of pain returning. My Gyn said in September that he was very hopeful of getting my endo under control due to the laser surgery and the Zoladex course "hitting it from both angles" and i am due to see him again in March next year when my pain will be reassessed and other medication will be discussed (what i don't know). I don't want to return to how i was earlier this year, my family went through hell with me and i am now crying as i write this, as they don't deserve having to live like we did.

I have really enjoyed being period free, but really cannot face the thought of anymore surgery, i was really quite ill after the last one.

Has anyone out there been on Zoladex who can give me any indication of what to expect? When am i likely to see a period? How long will these sweats last? Is there really any hope of having some painfree time ahead?

Any information would be really appreciated and i have found great comfort from reading the messages on this site - i stumbled on it in desparation!!

Many thanks Netti
