>Dear Chrissy, I don't think the Lupron has been in your system long enough to give you hot flashes yet. Lupron first over stimulates your ovaries (sometimes making the endo symptoms worse) for a week or so, then it shuts everything down. You shouldn't experience any menopausal symptoms until the initial overstimulation is done. I was on Lupron for four months (couldn't handle it any longer than that). The first week and a half I had horrible pelvic pain, I wound up taking narcotics and still not getting any relief! At two weeks after the first shot I had my first hot flash. The hot flashes really aren't that bad...my problem was a side affect that isn't mentioned often. Migraine headaches, every two days like clock work! In an effort to control the headaches my doctor put me on a low dose estrogen patch for "add back" therapy. This worked very well for several weeks, then I got a period, return of symptoms, and had to discontinue. Lupron did not work for me, however, it is a wonder drug for many people (my Gyn was on it for six months!). Stay possitive, if the side affects are too much, talk to your Gyn. There are many options for controling the menopausal symptoms.
