Have a Question.....From: Carlie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Dec 1 07:46:00 2001
Hi everyone. I am 22 yrs old, and have recently discovered that I have ovarian cysts. I just had my 2nd trans-vaginal ultrasound, finding 2 dermoid type cysts on my left ovary and another cyst on my right ovary. I was surprised because I had just had my first ultrasound 1 month prior and had only one dermoid on my left ovary. My Doc is concerned enough to schedule a "mini-laporatomy" in a couple of weeks. I am sure the reason for her concern is due to the fact that my mother had cancerous cysts on both of her ovaries. Which of course is a concern to me. This will be my first surgery ever! Which I think I have normal concerns....Basic surgery procerdures, etc. I know several of you have had a laporatomy. I was just wanting to hear from someone about their recovery, and how they feel now. I am unfamiliar with a mini-laporatomy. I will speaking with the doctor about this as well, but I would like to hear from someone who has experienced this. How long should I expect to be out of work? What type of pain will I be feeling later? ETC. Thank you all for your help. Carlie
