Lauren and LeepFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Oct 31 00:16:45 2001
Lauren, Somone else has prolly already explained it, but I'm gonna do it again lol. Anyway, Leep is short for Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure. It is used to remove dysplasia of the cervix. Getting into a little detail here lol, there is an instrument that has a wire half-circle on the end of it. (I could be wrong on this part, but I'm pretty sure I'm write lol) It uses electrical currents to remove abnormal tissue from the cervix. This procudure is usually done in the dr's office. It was painful, but not extremely so. Mostly kindof cramping pain, and of course it caused bleeding. lol, prolly more than you wanted to know :) lol. sorry I'm babbling, meds are kicking in lol. Take care hon. Love and Prayers, amanda
