Re: Endo surgery shows massive lesions and endoFrom: C (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Oct 30 06:51:59 2001
to Lauren, I was also told a hyst would relieve the endo, but am now having recurring problems with cramping and pain. The theory behind a hyst with BSO is that the endo will go away without estrogen. Recently though research has shown that some endo may be able to produce its own limited supply of estrogen. Now on the other side of the coin, there may be other reasons that a hysterectomy may be called for. Many women with endo also have adenomyosis, fibroisis, cystic ovaries etc. Be sure and ask alot of questions and don't have a hyst just for the endo without trying other options first.
