Re: im only 17 with endoFrom: Lauren (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Oct 29 06:08:04 2001
Dear Chrissy, I have also had endo from a very young age. I have never done lupron, as all the hormone treatments I have ever been on have made me ill. Your doctor might be trying to make sure that you can have children one day. Lupron stops the endo growing, and can actually shrink some of the implants while you are on it. It is true that it grows again when you come off the lupron, but at least you might be more comfortable on it, and you know that the endo is not destroying your chances of having babies some day. There are other similar treatments, that do not have side effects as bad, like synerell (a nose spray) and deprovera (an injection), that do the same thing, but seem to not have such bad side effects. Perhaps you and your mom should do some research on the net, and then go and talk to your doctor about this. Endo is difficult to live with, but you can cope, learn as much about the disease and it's treatments, this will empower you to be in charge, after all, it is your body, the only one you have got, so you need to take care of it. Let me know how things are going, I check the forum everyday, or you can e-mail me on laurenr@lantic.net. ((((ANGEL HUGS)))) LAUREN
