Re: im only 17 with endo - to amandaFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Oct 27 14:02:35 2001
Chrissy, Hey girl! I'm so glad that you have a good dr that actually helps you, that's half the battle for a lot of us (I'm still fighting mine lol). You know what I find very weird. Okay, I know one woman that had an ecotopic pregnancy and after she had surgery is when the endo started acting up in her. I've talked to a lot of women that have had miscarriages or just being pregnant and the endo started showing symptoms afterwards. It's kind of the same with me too. Back in 99 I had a miscarriage and it seemed like the endo decided to put me through hell afterwards. I've always had pain and symptoms, but after my miscarriage it got really BAD. My boyfriend had to help me walk and sometimes carry me cuz I couldn't. I just find it strange that so many women have gotten worse or started having symptoms after something like this. You're right. No one really knows why we have endo. The Retrograde Menstration Theory that you mentioned is one possible explanation, but that doesn't explain why some babies and men have had endo. There's also a theory that correlates endo with our immune systems. I believe this one a little more because it seems that we have a lot of problems with other diseases and there have been studies that state that we and our families have a higher risk of getting immune-related diseases and some types of cancer. There are so many possible answers, but no one knows for sure. It's mind-boggling trying to figure it out lol. I'm sorry to hear about your bf's mother. It's so hard when a loved on passes. One of my aunts died in June from cancer. I do believe that she took care of you. It's so amazing how much prayers help. Did you get an ultrasound of your ovaries? Maybe you have a cyst or a cyst ruptured? I'm glad that you are feeling better though. I wouldn't wish this disease on even my worst enemy, well there's one that I might lol. I live in New Mexico, have lived in this small town almost all of my life. It's one of the places that no matter how many times you leave you always come back lol. I just turned 23 on the 14th and I have a 5 yr old son. I've had endo since I was 12 years old, and just recently decided to start a support group in my area. I know that there are quite a few women around here that have endo, and that the drs around here really really suck lol. If you want to, you can email me at endogirl78@yahoo.com . I usually come here every few days, but I check my email almost every day, so I'll prolly respond quicker if ya want to email me directly lol. Well I better stop writing or it won't let my message through lol. Talk to ya soon hon. Take care Love and Prayers, Amanda
