ENDO

My name is Wendy I am 33 years old and the Mother of two Michael who is going on 13 and Pattie who is 3.

My son was so easy to conceive. In fact to easy. I conceived him while on BCP's. The DR advised me to terminate being I was on BCP's. But I thought it would be my only chance to have a child. You see I was diagnosed with ENDO when I was 14 years old. I got my first period when I was only 8, infact on my birthday. I was scared to tell anyone, but my mother new. Anyway I would always get very bad cramps and be so sick. So my first visit to a GYN was in December 1976. He ran all crazy tests on me, and I went on BCP's by the time I was 9. When I turned 14 the pain was still there. So they opened me up to see what was going on. Mind you all this time I was also seeing a shrink cause they thought my pain was in my head. When the Dr. opened me he found out that I followed in my Mothers foot steps and it was endomitriosis. My Mom had a hysterectomy that year, but they left in her ovaries (what asses they came out the following year). They keep me on BCP's and also put me on Danizol. So when I got pregnant at 19 I keep the pregnancy. And my son is very health with no medical problems (power of prayer).

I had a biopsy of my lungs and I have ENDO in my left lung. I have had ENDO removed from the inside of my colon. So besides having ENDO, I also have Asthma, MVP, LYMES, colon polyps, and reflux (which has been operated on 3 times).

When I got married to my second husband. My GYN told me I would never be able to conceive after he did my 1 lap. So we went to an infertility Dr. My daughter was conceived on my first try with IVF. The problem was this put us in financial hock. Cause insurance companies did not pay for any of my testing, procedure or the pregnancy, because she was not conceived by natural means, but with Medical help. Once I got pregnant I could not work, because I was high risk and could miscarriage. Actually I was caring 3 up until the beginning of my 4th month and I lost two of the babies. I spent many weeks in the hospital, to stop my labor and keep me stress free. I had my daughter at 30 weeks, and she is well except she has sever Asthma.

2 months after she was born I had another lap, because my pain was worse then ever. The Dr. said that my ENDO was worse, and he wanted me to try the Lupron. The HMO I had said NO, they would only pay for BCP's. So every month I would charge $800.00 to my card to pay for the Lupron for 6 months. Actually in my case the Lupron did very little cause the ENDO was to far gone. My Dr. recommend that I see and endocrinologist for the ENDO, and I did. She put me on Megace, and that did help a lot. I had to go on an antidepresent with it, cause the mood swings where so bad that My family hardley spook to me cause of the moods.

I had another lap in 8/2000. The DR had to abort my surgery, do to there was so much ENDO and to much bleeding the operative report reads black to much blood. So they stopped and recommended that I have a hysterectomy. Which I did not.

I winded up with other medical problems so for the last year I have done nothing for my ENDO. I have been on oxycontin since September of 2000, I have not even seen a GYN. I have had no pain, because the oxycontin had eliminated that, but I have put on a lot of weight. I took my self off of the oxycontin in August, after hearing all the bad reports. Terrible withdrawals from coming off. Even went in the hospital. Know I take my Oxycodone, only when I Have pain that I cannot tolerate. I made an appo intment to see a new GYN, cause my hormones are off. (blood test). My other DR retired.

I just pray everyday that my daughter never gets ENDO, or that they come up with a cure for this disease. It can ruin your life if you let it.

Have a pain free day to all, and ~~~HUGS~~~ Wendy
