Re: im only 17 with endoFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Oct 26 12:36:16 2001
Chrissy, There are so many treatments available to women with endo. There are a lot of drs that try to push Lupron. I'm 23 and for me, it wasn't that bad, but I will never go on it again since no one is sure about the long-term side effects. Any decision that you make for treatment should be a well researched one. You can try taking continuous birth control pills, depo-provera shot, zoladex, syneral, and many more treatments. I can't think of them all right now, but there are many options out there. Did your dr remove the endo when you had your lap, or was it just a diagnostic lap(where they just remove some tissue for biopsy)?? My first suggestion is to learn all that you can about endo and the treatments that are available to you. I have a list of web sites about endo and related health issues if you want it. Also, you might want to consider finding a dr that is more experienced with endometriosis. Regular gynecologists rarely know as much about endo as they should. I can not stress enough to educate yourself as much as possible about this, because education is the key. That way you can make informed decisions about your health care. Also, never let anyone, drs, parents, whoever try to force you into doing something that you are not sure about or something that you do not want to do. It is your body and you are the one that has to live with whatever decisions you decide to make. Take care of yourself hon, and if you need anything feel free to email me privately at any time. Also if you want the list of websites or more info, just email me and I'll be more than happy to help. Love and Prayers, Amanda endogirl78@yahoo.com
