Hi Leanne,

Thanks so much for the reply. It really helps getting other pepoles' experiences on this subject.

My story starts way back like with a lot of people. Please excuse me if I list things (yes there's that much - LOL) in point form, otherwise knowing myself, I'll go on for pages. Aside from physical diarhea, I've also been told I have verbal diarhea - LOL LOL.

OK Here Goes...

I Got my period early ( a sign of future problems I've read) around 9 yrs old

Have always had painful periods during cycle not before and wondered why they call it premenstrual syndrome when it hurts during.

Have always lasted about 7 days when others were around 4.

Period have usually been pretty heavy where I make a mess on underpants (sorry for gross factor) the pads never seemed long enough.

Have always had clots with period (not huge ones but about dime size)

During university started having abdominal pains (similar to twinges you describe). Pains were lower abdomen/pelvic region.

After getting married, the symptoms grew more numerous. I started getting vaginal pains (like in the perineum) with the beginning of my periods as well as muscle and back aches. Things that would appear out of the blue and eventually disappear after a few weeks or months.

Started going to doctor depressed and thinking I was going to die. He would do blood tests and pap etc. and everything was normal but I would still feel "off". I would even get these episodes where my skin would hurt - have you ever heard of this?

Anyway, after much reassurance that everything was ok I finally agreed to try for a baby. Luckily I was Pregnant within 3 months. BEST 9 MONTHS OF MY LIFE During this time I felt great - so full of energy and none of those symptoms. I was convinced all that was a thing of the past. I guess when the period stopped so did the things I never associated to be related to the period.

Four months after delivery (of a beautiful little girl) the symptoms started again except worse. Bad back and muscle aches, that overall "off" feeling. Other symptoms like additional gas belching, sometimes nausea etc. Freaking out, I ran back to doctor. He said he didn't find anything concerning.

Two days after seeing doc, I got that familiar vaginal pain and found my period was back. Everything went downhill from there.

I started having mid cycle pain in my pelvic region, occasional spotting (not on underpants, only when wiping) lower back pain and rectal pain which I thought was from hemmoroids after pregnancy. These symptoms at first followed a pattern, midcycle but then started becoming all the time. I was so scared because although I had other stuff, I had never spotted a day in my life and was convinced that something was really wrong. The spotting was only once though and not again until 8 months later.

Doc did pap and internal exam and said everything was normal. When these things persisted (8 mos later) I went to him and he sent me for ultrasound just to reassure me that nothing was wrong. Also had had a pap which was normal and two cbc done. Everything was normal and he said there was nothing on my ovaries and no thickening of the lining with the ultrasound and that a persons body is not the same after pregnancy.

After a bout with sinus infection, I started getting lightheadedness too that started coinciding with mid cycle and I noticed that I was also getting rectal bleeding during period because of the way the pad looked.

Finally asked doctor if since nothing was showing up it could be endo, he said sure it could but that he didn't want to put me under such invasive testing if it wasn't necessary (like I couldn't conceive or something) so we left it at that.

Looking back, a lot of the symptoms from my earlier days which I always thought were normal (clots w/period,pain etc) look like it could be endo symptoms as well as the stuff happening now(leg pain back pains) which I find so many of the ladies here describing.

Like you though, my symptoms are not necessarily on a day to day basis. I'll get them for a few months and then they'll stop for a while and I'll feel like a normal human being again and just when I've about forgotten about it, BOOM they're baaaack. And when they start up, they are pretty cyclical but soon progress to no pattern until it tapers off again. Do you know of this from yourself or others experiences?

Well, that is my story so sorry for the length. My daughter is 2 years old now and I would like to have another child but am so afraid everything is going to get worse again.

More than anything, thanks so much for listening and allowing me to vent. I really appreciate it and I'd love it if you had any more advice. In your experience does this sound like endo (I know we are not doctors here and any advice is taken accordingly) I really am loathe to going under the knife unless absolutely necessary.

Thanks again and please let me know if I can( so humbly)help with any questions. Pain free wishes Theresa
