Olivia, Hon you are not alone in this. Sadly enough, many women do have laps a lot! One of the main reasons is that the surgeon isn't experienced enough in endo to know what to look for all the time and where to look for it. There are soo many reasons why surgeries don't work and the pain returns so soon. There is microscopic endo that often can not be seen. There is also the chance that the surgeon missed endo by not looking in all the areas that could be effected by endo. Also, not all drs performing laps know all the differents forms that endo takes, endo comes in all kinds of colors. One more thing to add, when laser surgery is done, this "burns" the top layer of endo off, but if the endo is deep, then they do not reach all of the endo, which will still cause the pain and symptoms. As for what you can do next, there are so many treatments available, the problem is that they don't all work. It's sort of a guessing game that way. There are birth control pills, depo-provera can be used, zoladex, etc. I can't think of all of the treatments, and I know that I don't know all the treatments available, but there is hope hon. I think we can all relate to about family and friends not understanding about our pain and symptoms and sometimes we feel like they are getting sick of hearing about it. No matter how caring and loving they are, unless they have endo, they just can't understand what you are going through. I wish that we could wave a magic wand and help them to understand :). There are many support groups out there for women with endo. I always suggest one in particular because I know how great the women there are and there are a lot of women and a lot of different experiences avaible. We all can relate our stories and symptoms and try to come to an understanding together. Okay you can get to the support group by visiting the ERC at http://www.endocenter.org there is any addy there that is for a forum held on yahoo. If you like, I can email you the addy, I would give it now, but don't have it on hand. If you need anything, feel free to email me privately. TAke care hon.
