Katie,

You will be in the bathroom a lot when doing a bowel prep of any kind. The point is to get rid of bacteria so if your intestine gets nicked you reduce your risk of periotontis (sp?). My doc gave me antibiotics to take on top of mag citrate and enemas. Don't worry about the good bacteria, it will come back. After you get home you could start eating yogurt and take lactobacillus acidophilis or Probiotica and it will help.

Bowel prep is not fun, but it is better than the alternative.

Best wishes with your lap.
